EB's First Trip to Vero Beach

Lots of walks, smoothies and love during EB's first trip to Vero! We cannot wait to bring her back when she is old enough to go in the pool and to eat ice cream.

Happy 4 months, Eleanor Bea! You have developed so much the past month and are the most fun to be around. You love your toes - pulling them, eating them, staring at them. All of it!  This month was big for sleep. You slept all the way through the night, and you transitioned to your crib. You love playing in your crib each morning, and you also get super hyped on the changing table before bed. You still don’t love to nap, so praise the Lord for Joni Mitchell. She is your lullaby. Mommy really should have found a happier lullaby.... This month you traveled to Nashville to see family, to Dallas for market, and to Champaign to setup Bella. You did wonderful on the flights besides a few diaper blowouts. Everyone commented how you are “the most beautiful baby.” You love to be on the move, so you’re a fan of traveling.  Love you more than you know!

  3 months have flown by with our sweet Eleanor Bea "EB"! You giggled for the first time in St. Michaels, and now you love to giggle every night before bed on the changing table. You also have long conversations on the changing table, repeating the sounds that mommy makes, and singing with dad. We think your blue eyes might be here to stay! You prefer your hands to your pacifier, and we often call you "slobber pot" because you are constantly blowing spit bubbles. You have figured out how to pick up objects, especially the bee and dinosaur toys. You're working on rolling over from your tummy to your back, which you successfully did on the Boppy with Aunt Jenna.   You don't love naps, but praise Jesus you sleep well at night. We put you to sleep around 7:00pm, and you sleep until 3:30am or 4:00am. If I put you on my chest after the 6:30am feeding you will sleep until 8:30am. I love your snuggles, so we do this often! Hospital Packing List

Everyone has their own take on what's essential to pack for the hospital. Below is a list of what I found helpful. I packed four separate bags, which made for simple organization.  Baby Bag The hospital provides nearly everything that you will need for baby, so all the swaddles I brought were unnecessary. However, I'm glad that I packed a few items. Cute newborn hat - While Sibley provides hats that are made by residents at the nearby nursing home (super sweet sentiment), they look like smurf hats. I purchased this pink striped hat with a bow.  Boppy nursing pillow - Great for nursing but also to sit on because your booty will be sore Going home outfit DSLR camera Phone charger Mom Bag Robe Slippers Black pajamas that unbutton for nursing- I felt like a new woman changing from a hospital gown into these on day 2.
